Description:

The role of Consultant, People and Engagement is to provide specialised support to the operational needs of the team by assisting in the implementation and monitoring of human resources activities, processes, functions and systems on behalf of OPG.

The team

The People and Engagement Team provides expert human resources advice and support to OPG staff and managers across the full employee lifecycle, so our employees are safe, well, committed, valued and engaged.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the OPG People & Engagement Team in the management and proactive resolution of employee and supervisor inquiries by providing well-researched advice.
  • Deliver a timely and high-quality service ensuring adherence to relevant legislation, enterprise agreements, awards, policies, and practices in relation to contemporary human resource practice, particularly within the Queensland Public Sector.
  • Process and seek approval for establishment variations and manage fortnightly review of establishment and spreadsheets.
  • Monitor HR practices to ensure compliance with departmental requirements and contribute to the development and improvement of HR procedures by using problem-solving skills to identify and implement effective alternatives and solutions.
  • Provide timely, high-quality advice, support, and training on electronic document management tool systems.
  • Assist with the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports, briefing notes, and submissions.
  • Contribute to data quality management principles, including documenting, implementing, and routinely reviewing data to ensure they meet the needs of the business.
