About The Role

Help keep the Sunshine Coast’s parks and open spaces vibrant, clean and thriving. In this hands‑on role, you’ll operate plant and equipment, maintain parks and natural areas, and support landscape improvement across our urban environment. If you enjoy outdoor, practical work and want to make a real difference in the look and feel of our community, this role puts you right where the impact happens.

  • Carry out horticulture and landscaping tasks including planting, weeding, mulching, pruning, mowing and turf care.
  • Operate and maintain Council plant, machinery and equipment safely and effectively.
  • Assist with landscape construction, general labouring and maintaining roadside vegetation and natural areas.
  • Remove debris and litter to keep parks and gardens clean and welcoming.
  • Monitor plant and site conditions and report issues or hazards promptly.
  • Meet workplace health, safety and environmental requirements, including correct use of PPE and reporting incidents.
  • Complete daily documentation such as timesheets and incident reports.
  • Work collaboratively as part of a high‑performing team to deliver quality service to the community.

About You

To be successful in this role, you’ll bring the practical skills, licences and physical capability needed for hands‑on outdoor work across the region. You’ll be ready to work safely, operate equipment confidently and meet the physical demands of maintaining our parks and public spaces.

  • Certificate II in Horticulture or relevant experience
  • CPCCOHS1001A – Work Safely in the Construction Industry (White Card)
  • Current ‘C’ class driver’s licence and LR licence
  • Physical agility, fitness, strength and dexterity to perform labouring work and frequent heavy lifting/bending
  • Satisfactory completion of a pre‑employment medical assessment
