About the Role
As Marketing Director, you will be the strategic architect and executive owner of ghd’s brand, category and consumer growth strategy. Reporting to the Managing Director and sitting on the ANZ Leadership Team, you will drive the long‑term commercial agenda, influence cross‑functional decision making, and shape the future of our portfolio across all categories and channels.

Strategic Leadership & Decision Making
- Set the multi‑year omni-category growth strategy that defines ghd’s commercial and brand trajectory across ANZ.
- Shape the ANZ strategic agenda through insight‑led recommendations to the Executive Leadership Team.
- Identify market opportunities, emerging trends and competitive risks, translating them into decisive actions and strategic trade‑offs.
- Own annual A&CP investment strategy, portfolio prioritisation and long-term brand equity planning.
Enterprise-Level Category & Portfolio Ownership
- Lead the strategic direction of all core and emerging categories (Stylers, Hairdryers, Curling, Wet to Dry, Wetline).
- Make informed portfolio decisions on New Product Development pipeline, launch sequencing, pricing strategy and category ambition setting.
- Ensure category strategies translate into integrated, high‑impact go‑to‑market plans across every channel.
Brand Leadership & Market Positioning
- Serve as senior brand custodian, ensuring premium, consistent, high‑impact execution at every consumer, retail and professional touchpoint.
- Decide and direct brand partnerships, ambassadors, collaborations and influencer frameworks that elevate market position.
- Lead agency relationships at an executive level, ensuring strategy, creative direction and investment drive brand and commercial impact.
Digital Acceleration & Future-Focused Transformation
- Champion a digital-first, performance‑led mindset across the organisation.
- Shape the long-term digital ecosystem strategy across owned, earned and paid channels.
- Oversee sophisticated, integrated campaigns that strengthen our category leadership and accelerate conversion within the consumer journey.
Executive People Leadership
- Lead and develop a multidisciplinary team across category, brand, education, PR, social, digital and trade.
- Set organisational pace, accountability and capability standards that uplift the entire marketing function.
- Drive culture, clarity and alignment across the business through strong communication and executive presence.
About You
- Deep experience (10+ years) in senior strategic marketing roles, ideally beauty, luxury, fashion or high-growth consumer brands.
- A proven strategic thinker who influences at executive and global levels.
- Demonstrated success in portfolio and category strategy, brand leadership, and digital transformation.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience owning investment strategies and delivering measurable growth.
- A decisive leader who builds high-performing teams and drives clarity, pace and accountability.
- Creative vision combined with operational discipline and a consumer‑first mindset.
