The Opportunity
Western Sydney University is seeking a Senior Lecturer in Food Science to contribute to high quality teaching, impactful research, and strong industry engagement across the School of Science. In this role you will shape curriculum, mentor students, and strengthen Western’s academic reputation in a field central to global industry and societal needs.
You will take responsibility for course development and delivery across undergraduate and postgraduate programs, ensuring engaging learning experiences that support student achievement and employability. Working collaboratively with colleagues, you will design innovative learning resources, contribute to academic quality assurance, and offer individual and cohort-based student support.
Research leadership is a key component of this position. You will conduct high-quality individual or collaborative research, build recognised disciplinary expertise, supervise HDR candidates, and contribute to competitive grant applications. You will also develop and maintain relationships with external partners, including industry, regulatory bodies and professional networks.

About You
A PhD in Food Science, Food Technology or a closely related discipline. Evidence of strong research outputs, disciplinary impact and potential for research leadership. Demonstrated experience designing and delivering high-quality learning experiences. Ability to support diverse student cohorts and foster inclusive learning environments.
