    The Opportunity

    Western Sydney University is seeking a Lecturer in Design Management to contribute to high‑quality teaching, research and academic leadership within the School of Built Environment and Design. Working within the Faculty of Engineering, Computing and Science, you will help deliver contemporary, industry‑focused curriculum and support students across undergraduate and postgraduate programs.

    In this role, you will coordinate and teach core subjects, design learning materials that reflect emerging industry practices, and contribute to the ongoing development of curriculum across the discipline. You will collaborate with academic colleagues to deliver research‑informed teaching that enhances the learning experience and fosters student success.

    This position also provides an opportunity to build your research profile. You will undertake scholarship, publish in high‑quality journals, contribute to grant applications, supervise research students and develop partnerships across the University and with industry. You will also participate in School and Faculty governance, student support, and academic community engagement.

    What Success Looks Like:

    High‑quality teaching delivery across undergraduate and postgraduate units. Effective coordination, design and evaluation of subjects, including assessment and feedback. Active participation in scholarly research, publishing and grant development. Supervision and successful progression of Honours and Higher Degree Research students. Contribution to School, Faculty and University committees and academic initiatives.

    About You

  • A completed or submitted doctoral qualification in a Built Environment discipline, ideally with a focus on Design Management.
Demonstrated excellence in teaching and learning in a tertiary environment. Experience building academic and professional networks across industry and sector partners. Evidence of research capability, including publications or creative scholarship relevant to the discipline. Experience supervising Honours or Higher Degree Research students. Strong communication, organisational and project management skills, with proficiency in CAD, BIM and design collaboration platforms.
