Townsville Hospital and Health Service are seeking a Clinical Nurse Consultant to join Paediatric Cardiology Services at the Townsville University Hospital on a temporary full-time basis.

This position commences 31/07/2025 - 01/12/2025, with a possibility of an extension - not exceeding 12 months.

About the opportunity

The purpose of this role is to provide clinical expertise and consultancy through advanced clinical leadership relevant to the speciality of paediatric cardiology. The Clinical Nurse Consultant role provides advanced clinical and problem-solving skills, expert planning and coordination skills in the clinical management of cardiac patients/residents/clients with complex health-care needs, ensuring quality standards are met.

  • Salary range: $5081.10 to $5516.60 p.f. (NG7)
  • 5 weeks annual leave with 17.5% loading

  • 12.75% employer contribution to superannuation

Requirements:

  • Qualification: Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent certification relevant to the position is mandatory.
  • Highly Desirable : Possession of a relevant postgraduate qualification in an appropriate field is highly desirable. Such experience may be discipline specific or have a service area focus.
  • Drivers Licence: This position requires the incumbent to operate a class C motor vehicle and an appropriate license endorsement to operate this vehicle is required. Proof of this endorsement must be provided prior to the commencement of duty.
  • Travel: Travel by light aircraft may be required.
  • This is a Vaccine Preventable Disease (VPD) risk role. Hepatitis B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Tuberculosis.
  • Pre-employment checks will be conducted.
