Australian Islamic College is a God-centered K-12 co-educational facility catering for over 5,300 students from five sites at (Thornlie, Dianella, Forrestdale, Henley Brook & Kewdale WA ) and one site in Adelaide, SA.
We are seeking a passionate Speech Pathologist for all our Perth schools commencing from term 3, 2025.
As a Speech Therapist with the Australian Islamic College, you will work alongside a wide range of diverse children to build their capacity. You will encounter children with already diagnosed learning difficulties who require support, as well as children requiring assessment and support.
In this role you will facilitate Speech Pathology services for our students. This involves the application of high-level expertise to work with children who have physical, neurodevelopmental, or mental health conditions associated with developmental delays. Assessment is a significant aspect of this role, coupled with providing intervention services.
In this role, you will be assisting vulnerable children from a culturally and linguistically diverse community to overcome the impact of developmental delays to achieve their full potential.
As a Speech Pathologist you need to work

Collaboratively with AIC IE coordinator(s) and potentially other external specialists (like the AISWA psychologist)

Knowledge of funding applications and eligibility requirements would be ideal

Likelihood of needing to travel between campuses (requiring own vehicle)

Ability to work in both a proactive (planning, screening) and reactive (assess and support as needs arise) space

Be able to offer professional development or training to wider AIC staff on classroom-based strategies from their expertise

Be able to offer information sessions or workshops for parents for home-based strategies

Maintain a database of work conducted and regularly provide a summary report (e.g.; annually, 06 monthly, quarterly etc.) to AIC executive
Essential Criteria:

Qualification in Speech Pathology and eligibility for membership of Speech Pathology Australia.

Ability to provide specialised speech and language services and support to students with speech and language impairments.

Knowledge and understanding of the latest trends, research and impact on speech and language development including Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Ability to monitor and evaluate language impaired students’ progress both individually and in the context of language / literacy programmes.

Ability to conduct assessments, develop goals and effective teaching strategies for language impaired students within a diverse educational setting.

Ability to work cross-culturally.

Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills which demonstrate an ability to function in a self-directed way and collaboratively with a wide range of people in a diverse educational setting including working collaboratively with the College’s IE Coordinators and external specialists such as AISWA psychologist.

A valid Working with Children Check and if requested proof of a clean criminal record.
