The Opportunity
We are seeking an energetic and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team on a 12-month contract, based at our Melbourne office and warehouse in Truganina.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute smart purchasing strategies to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors
- Assist with sourcing and procurement activities across product categories
- Monitor inventory levels across all warehouses and replenish stock to optimal levels
- Track and monitor shipments, providing timely updates to relevant stakeholders
- Ensure accuracy and completeness of data entry in ERP and related systems
- Work towards and achieve purchasing and inventory KPIs
Skills and Experience
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Formal training in Purchasing, Procurement, Inventory Control, or a related discipline
- Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors
- Strong organisational and planning capabilities
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment
- A troubleshooting mindset, with the ability to identify root causes, manage information, and manipulate data as required
- Strong business acumen with advanced Excel and data analysis skills
- Excellent communication skills with fluent English, both written and verbal, and the ability to liaise confidently with management
- A customer-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills
- The ability to manage ambiguity while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
