The Opportunity

We are seeking an energetic and experienced Purchasing Officer to join our team on a 12-month contract, based at our Melbourne office and warehouse in Truganina.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute smart purchasing strategies to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and agreements with vendors
  • Assist with sourcing and procurement activities across product categories
  • Monitor inventory levels across all warehouses and replenish stock to optimal levels
  • Track and monitor shipments, providing timely updates to relevant stakeholders
  • Ensure accuracy and completeness of data entry in ERP and related systems
  • Work towards and achieve purchasing and inventory KPIs

Requirements

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Formal training in Purchasing, Procurement, Inventory Control, or a related discipline
  • Proven negotiation skills with suppliers and vendors
  • Strong organisational and planning capabilities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills in a fast-paced environment
  • A troubleshooting mindset, with the ability to identify root causes, manage information, and manipulate data as required
  • Strong business acumen with advanced Excel and data analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills with fluent English, both written and verbal, and the ability to liaise confidently with management
  • A customer-oriented approach with strong interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage ambiguity while thriving in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
