Lead Queensland development assessment, appeals,compliance. Be pragmatic & responsive to facilitate State priorities for housing supply & economic development.We need an Executive Director to direct principles-based development assessments to give residents, industry & local government unequivocal & timely certainty on decisions, regardless of the planning decision being a ’yes' or ’no'.
Oversee State facilitated development, Ministerial Infrastructure Designations, Regional Interests Development Approvals, Ministerial call-ins, the State’s position in appeals & compliance.
You will ensure development proposals are facilitated where needed & when it is needed, while ensuring the State’s interests are integrated.
You will work closely with the State Planner & your colleagues to collectively contribute to the department’s strategic direction, strengthen our workplace.

- Provide strategic direction and leadership for Development Assurance to ensure timely, robust and transparent decision-making to instill investment and community confidence in the State's role in development assessment, appeals and compliance.
- Provide proactive, responsive and timely advice to the Deputy Director-General, Planning Group, and the Minister and Minister's office.
- Offer insightful recommendations for streamlining the state's planning framework, advocating for change and improvement to achieve desired outcomes while maintaining integrity, consistency and accountability.
- Establish and maintain effective partnerships with senior leaders across Planning Group and other government agencies, and with the development industry, fostering collaboration on the Government's land use and development objectives.
- Effectively manage the delivery and allocation of resources ensuring timely and budget-conscious completion of all services, meeting publicly facing key
- Proactively contribute to the Group's Executive Leadership Team, in developing an inclusive and collaborative culture, ensuring a high standard of accountability and performance.
- Develop, lead and manage a highly engaged and responsive, customer-focused workforce that contributes effectively to the department's vision and strategic objectives.
