As a Principal Trade and Investment Officer at Trade and Investment Queensland (TIQ), you will be part of a small team of market experts who support the delivery of Queensland's international trade and investment priorities.In this senior role you will work closely with TIQ's off-shore teams to provide strategic market intelligence, analysis and advice to guide TIQ's global engagement and inform organisational decision making.
The position leads and coordinates the development of TIQ's global market and regional strategies, oversees the implementation of targeted trade and investment initiatives, and manages key stakeholder relationships across government, industry and international partners.
You will have the opportunity to draw on your experience in international trade and investment, proven capability in strategy development, and excellent stakeholder and project leadership skills to implement strategic activations and business plan activities for The Americas region, including the United States, Canada, Mexico and Latin America.

- Proven leadership in managing strategic engagement and fostering collaboration with senior executive stakeholders in government, corporate and not-for profit sectors.
- An experienced strategic thinker with analytical aptitude, deep market knowledge and a strong understanding of global trends, able to quickly assess and advise stakeholders on trade and investment issues.
- Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication skills, including extensive experience preparing ministerial briefs, analysing data to produce detailed reports, delivering effective presentations, and representing government in official capacities.
- Demonstrated ability to navigate government policy and processes quickly and effectively in the delivery of complex cross-functional, inter-departmental and cross-border projects and activities.
