This is an exciting opportunity to lead Queensland’s digital and ICT investment strategy, shaping the government’s approach to digital transformation while driving innovation, collaboration, and citizen-centred outcomes across the public sector.
As the General Manager, Digital Investment and Strategy, you will:
- Lead the implementation of Queensland's Digital and AI Strategy to drive innovation and deliver impactful change.
- Oversee the government's digital and ICT investment prioritisation and assurance framework, ensuring initiatives deliver value for money and align with strategic priorities.
- Provide strategic leadership for the Queensland Government Enterprise Architecture Framework, creating a blueprint for evidence-driven digital technology use across government.
- Collaborate with government, industry, and community stakeholders to address the challenges and opportunities of a rapidly evolving digital environment.
- Drive initiatives to improve digital connectivity, foster inclusion, and build digital skills and capability across government, businesses, and communities.
Role
You will be a senior executive leader with a strong record of achievement in strategic reform and a proven ability to lead digital investment and strategy initiatives. To excel in this role, you will bring:
- Proven experience in leading digital and ICT functions across large-scale, complex organisations.
- A deep understanding of digital transformation, digital investment governance, assurance, and enterprise architecture, with the ability to translate these into measurable outcomes for a wide range of stakeholders.
- Extensive stakeholder engagement and relationship management experience, including influencing, negotiating, and collaborating to achieve successful outcomes.
- Demonstrated success in managing investment assurance processes in digital and ICT systems.
- Extensive experience in risk assessment and mitigation strategies in digital applications and technology, balancing service delivery, expenditure, and risk impact.
- Resilience and agility to deliver results in high-pressure and rapidly changing environments.
- Possession of a relevant tertiary qualification in fields such as information technology, data science, public administration, business, or a related discipline, or extensive equivalent experience in digital transformation, data governance, or ICT leadership, is highly desirable.
- The role may require travel within Queensland and interstate.
