About The Division
The Resilience and Recovery Division supports building a stronger, safer and more resilient Queensland through foresight, collaboration and informed action. Guided by a forward-thinking approach, we harness insights into emerging risks, challenges and trends to shape QRA's strategy and decision-making processes. Our division also ensures that Queensland's disaster recovery and resilience policies and programs reduce risk, increase resilience and improve preparedness for future disasters.
About The Team
The Policy and Program Design team are responsible for delivering actions to improve the resilience of Queensland communities and facilitate locally led disaster recovery, coordinate Disaster Recovery Funding Arrangements (DRFA) extraordinary funding packages and resilience funding programs and help communities prepare for and recover from disasters.
About The Role
- Guide the strategic direction of state, regional and local disaster resilience investment opportunities.
- Undertake research on national and international investment and finance pathways to inform innovative future resilience funding opportunities and development of business cases.
- Adopt a lessons management approach to enhance the design of resilience funding programs.
- Lead the development of evaluation methodologies for resilience funding programs and subsequent evaluation activities.
- Prepare and provide accurate and timely advice to the Manager, Director and other senior executives in relation to the design of resilience funding programs and related policies.
- Liaise with, provide advice and respond appropriately to internal and external stakeholders across all levels of government (local, state and federal) on matters that relate to resilience funding programs and investment opportunities.
- Identify and support continuous improvement opportunities to enable optimal grant program processing throughout the end-to-end process.
- Prepare timely, accurate and well-written briefings for executive leadership, partner agencies and state and national committees.
- Build and manage positive working relationships and partnerships with colleagues to ensure smooth transition from the design phase to the implementation and delivery phases of grants management.
- Provide support and guidance to build capacity and capability for team members and across QRA as needed.
- Represent QRA's position in meetings, committees, and cross-agency forums at state and national level, drawing on organisational expertise and experience to influence the wider policy agenda.
- Undertake related projects and other duties of equivalent complexity, as required.
- This role reports to the Manager, Resilience Funding.
