There are two AO6 Senior Policy Officer positions to be filled from this recruitment. The Strategic Policy (Disability) branch is comprised of teams that lead strategic policy, legal policy and intergovernmental relations projects and reforms across the human services portfolio with a focus on disability reform. The branch works in close collaboration with other areas in the department, other government agencies and the Australian Government to provide whole of government strategic policy solutions.The Role Of Senior Policy Officer Will Be To
- contribute to major projects and reforms, and provide strategic policy advice to achieve the department’s strategic objectives.
- assist in coordinating the development, implementation and project management of departmental and whole-of-government strategies and reforms.
- Provide advice to ensure the efficient, effective and coordinated development of whole of government solutions to complex human services policy issues.
- Provide strategic analysis and advice on complex policy, legislative and/or intergovernmental relations issues.
- Development and coordination of responses to contribute to achieving identified outcomes.
- Research and advise on contemporary policy and legislative frameworks, based on evidence and best practice locally, nationally and internationally.
- Develop and maintain effective partnerships across the department, Queensland Government, nationally and with other stakeholders to ensure identified needs and issues are appropriately reflected in policy, legislation and intergovernmental frameworks.
- Contribute as a member of a policy unit to develop elements of the work program on time and within budget.
- Contribute to meeting the Cabinet work program, consistent with Government commitments and directions set by the Minister and Director-General, meeting all deadlines and performance requirements.
