Description:

Infrastructure Services Division Maintenance Program Delivery is seeking a Principal Infrastructure Services Officer to join their Claims Management Team, leading Disaster Recovery claims. This is a temporary full-time position until 30 June 2026, unless otherwise determined. We are looking for an agile and enthusiastic person who can manage the planning and delivery disaster recovery program for the department. The team also manages the department’s Resource Replacement Scheme and Queensland Government Insurance Fund claims.

About The Role

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

  • Lead a small team in the management of disaster works at Departmental sites.
  • Monitor, analyse and disaster rectification works to identify improvements and ensure the ongoing quality of our work.
  • Develop and review policies and processes for the effective implementation of the department's maintenance programs
  • Provide strategic advice on disaster rectification works and processes to key internal stakeholders
  • Analyse data to identify risks and opportunities for improvement and use this information to mitigate risks and initiate improvements
  • Develop and sustain productive partnerships with key internal and external stakeholders
  • Provide advice and guidance to other staff and support the work of team members through mentoring and training opportunities
  • Prepare Ministerial, Parliamentary and corporate correspondence and regular reports on the progress of disaster rectification works.
  • Contribute to a positive team culture which emphasises learning and development, innovation and inclusiveness.

  • Well-developed problem solving and analytical skills and the ability to utilise these skills to improve policies and processes to ensure that organisational objectives are achieved.
  • Effective communication, consultation and negotiation skills with a proven ability to meet client needs and foster and maintain mutually productive partnerships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary strategies and concepts associated with asset management and the application of this knowledge to develop innovative solutions that contribute to the achievement of organisational goals and meet client needs
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff to participate in organisational change activities.
  • You will also hold a current Working with Children Check clearance (blue card) issued by Blue Card Services), a mandatory requirement for this role.
