Hancock Energy has a full-time opportunity for an experienced Assistant Accountant to join the Finance team supporting onshore oil and gas projects throughout Western Australia.
The opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Financial Accountant, the role is to support the finance operations across the rapidly expanding business. This is a great opportunity to become part of a successful branded business that has a supportive culture.
Key Duties:
- End to end accounts payable processing
- Process and monitor travel and expense claims
- Assist in month end accruals, reallocations, prepayments and provisions
- Maintain fixed asset register
- Perform Balance Sheet reconciliations
- Assist with audit queries
- Support financial governance and compliance
- Assist in preparation of payment times reporting
- Provide support in the preparation of management reports and financial statements
- Assist in cash forecasts
- Support budget and forecast reporting
About You
The successful candidate will be a highly organised individual with the following attributes:
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
- Working towards CA/CPA qualification (Desirable)
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel
- Demonstrated proficiency in ERP systems
- Strong understanding of accounting principles
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Experience within O&G sector (Desirable)
