Remuneration

Counsellor Level 3: $58.95 to $60.86 per hour

Psychologist: $40.58 - $59.39 per hour

Social Worker Level 3: $58.95 to $60.86 per hour

Welfare Officer Level 3: $58.95 to $60.86 per hour

Hours Per Week : 38

What You'll Be Doing

The position of the Drought Relief – Farm Gate Counsellor is to engage with and provide support to rural farming communities and individuals within the broader agricultural sector who are experiencing severe stress due to the current drought. Farm Gate Counsellors will work in collaboration with other agency and networks.

Selection Criteria

  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in health, welfare or counselling. Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Psychologist, OR eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) OR eligible for membership of another relevant professional body.
  • Demonstrated experience of living and/or working in rural and remote communities and awareness of the impact that drought has on individuals, family relationships and communities.
  • Demonstrated high level written, interpersonal communication skills with the proven capacity to negotiate, influence and develop relationships with stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated high level organisational skills and competency in Microsoft computer applications.
  • Evidence of a current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances and overnight stays.
