Assistant Business Planning & Control Manager (Assistant Finance Manager)

LVMH Fashion Group manages a portfolio of iconic luxury maisons including CELINE, LOEWE, FENDI and KENZO. We are seeking an experienced Assistant Business Planning & Control Manager (Assistant Finance Manager) to join our Finance & Operations team based in Sydney, supporting our Fashion Group Maisons across Oceania.


Reporting to the Finance & Operations Controller, Oceania, this role is a key finance business partner to the retail and operational teams. You will support business planning, financial performance, reporting, and internal controls, providing clear insights to support decision-making, risk management, and sustainable growth.


This role is a 6 month full-time contract position , with potential view to extend.


Key Responsibilities

Business Planning, Financial & Operational Support

  • Lead and support annual budgeting and forecasting cycles, from initial framing through to presentation to the regional office (Singapore).
  • Prepare and report monthly results, including variance analysis against budget and forecast, and provide clear, insightful commentaries to regional stakeholders.
  • Act as a finance business partner to retail and operational teams, supporting initiatives to drive profitability and achieve operational targets.
  • Deliver ad-hoc financial analysis on sales, expenses, and spend to support commercial decision-making.
  • Prepare month-end accruals and journal entries, review OPEX, and complete month-end reporting.
  • Work closely with the regional accounting team to optimise balance sheet performance, particularly cash and working capital.
  • Review monthly stock reconciliations with Hong Kong accounting and merchandising teams.
  • Monitor inventory performance and propose initiatives to optimise stock levels and mix.
  • Review legal and commercial contracts in collaboration with brands, legal teams, and landlords.


Internal Control, Compliance & Governance

  • Support the internal control team in planning, executing, and reviewing annual retail audits across the store network.
  • Partner with logistics teams to plan and review stocktakes, with results reported to the regional office.
  • Monitor internal controls to ensure compliance with corporate governance standards and company policies.
  • Communicate and reinforce company guidelines to retail teams to ensure consistent compliance.
  • Ensure adherence to procedures relating to cash handling, credit card processing, petty cash, and sales float management.
  • Prepare and lodge statutory and regulatory requirements, including quarterly BAS, monthly IAS, monthly ABS sales declarations, and annual FBT submissions.
  • Prepare and lodge annual insurance declarations.
  • Coordinate with external stakeholders on annual transfer pricing disclosures.


Projects & Strategic Initiatives

  • Participate in, lead, or manage ad-hoc projects including boutique operations handbook updates, internal and external audits, wholesale-to-retail initiatives, and POS implementations.
  • Partner with retail teams on new investments and network expansion, including preparation of capital expenditure proposals for HQ approval.


About You

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related discipline.
  • CA or CPA qualified.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in FP&A, management accounting, or a similar commercial finance role (retail or FMCG experience highly regarded).
  • Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to partner effectively with senior stakeholders.
  • Comfortable working independently and collaboratively within a matrixed, multi-country environment.
  • Agile, proactive, and adaptable, with a mindset for continuous improvement.
  • Experience with Microsoft AX, SAP, and/or POS systems (e.g. Cegid) is desirable but not essential.
