Description:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain governance frameworks and policies.
  • Provide expert advice on compliance and risk management across the organisation.
  • Monitor adherence to legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and present detailed reports and recommendations to senior management.
  • Coordinate internal audits and ensure effective follow-up actions.
  • Facilitate training sessions on governance and compliance for staff.
  • Support the development of risk management strategies and mitigation plans.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure continuous improvement in governance practices.

Requirements:

A successful Senior Governance Officer should have:

  • Proven experience in governance, risk management, and compliance within the public sector.
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication abilities.
  • High attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
  • Ability to build and maintain effective stakeholder relationships.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in governance, law, or a related field.
