Description:
The Manager is responsible for leading and managing the department’s reportable conduct functions involving family-based carers and adult household members, ensuring that the department has systems in place to notify, investigate and respond to allegations of reportable conduct in accordance with the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024. This role will provide expert, authoritative advice to internal and external stakeholders in relation to the identification and management of alleged reportable conduct.This role provides strategic leadership, guidance and advice to support improvement initiatives across the department in relation to the reportable conduct scheme.
As a Manager You Will
- Lead the development, implementation, and improvement of Reportable Conduct Investigations (family-based care), ensuring measurable outcomes and alignment with organisational and government priorities.
- Evaluate and facilitate reviews and audits of the effectiveness of the department's systems related to the reportable conduct scheme, including its policy, procedure and reporting requirements to ensure alignment with government priorities and compliance with legislative obligations.
- Provide professional, authoritative and timely strategic advice to senior leaders including the Director-General, Deputy Directors-General and other senior management on issues of a sensitive and complex nature pertaining to instances of alleged reportable conduct or the broader system for participating in the reportable conduct scheme.
- Maintain a close and effective working relationship with all relevant stakeholders to support the department's reportable conduct obligations, drive cross-agency collaboration to address complex policy challenges and deliver coordinated, innovative solutions that contribute to the safety of children.
- Conduct high level, complex assessments, preliminary enquiries and reviews in relation to allegations of reportable conduct, as defined under the Child Safe Organisations Act 2024.
- Utilise contemporary, best practice investigative methodologies to manage timely and reliable investigations of complex and sensitive allegations of reportable conduct.
- Lead, coach, mentor and support a cohesive, high performing team in a dynamic environment to ensure consistency of approach while encouraging a culture of continuous improvement and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure effective management of human, financial and physical resources.
- Promote an accountable, fair and safe work environment through the implementation of management practices, policies and procedures, including achievement planning and equal employment/anti-discrimination.
- Manage other projects and other related business unit work tasks, including representing Reportable conduct investigations (family-based care) in various committees, forums or working groups.
