The Regional Specialist Services Team in the South West Region is part of the Quality Practice Support Team and consists of Transition Officers and Specialist Services Clinicians providing support to children and young people across the child protection continuum and post 18 years old who have complex and/or disability support needs.As the Principal Project Officer, you will drive regional practice priorities and support the implementation and embedding of the department's broader practice reform agenda and strategic direction as it relates to disability and complex needs. We collaborate with a range of internal and external stakeholders to promote and strengthen practice and service delivery across the child protection continuum. Your role to build and maintain strong relationships and collaboration with key stakeholders across sector and government partners, is critical to the enabling front-line services delivery to meet the needs of children.
You will work closely with front-line service delivery to strengthen disability literacy/practice and to build their capacity to navigate the various state and federal systems that provide funding and support to children and young people with complex/disability needs in the child protection system.
The role relies on effective hub and spoke collaboration to support the integrity of the program's operational guidelines and provide governance and connection to regional priorities.
- Clinical and program support is provided through the Specialist Services program located in the Office of the Chief Practitioner.
- this role is responsible for delivering high quality supervision (with an operational focus) and providing day-to-day line management to each team member.
