The Principal Program Officer, Specialist Practice develops and implements projects to support the delivery of the Secure Care facility.The successful candidate will have experience in service design and implementation, practice development and review and research and evaluation with a strong focus on ensuring services are delivering quality outcomes for children and young people and value for investment of public funds.
As Principal Program Officer You Will
- Undertake high level, culturally responsive liaison, consultation and negotiation with internal and external stakeholders, to develop the development of a practice framework for secure care.
- Undertake the scoping, development and design of a model of care to support effective service delivery to children and young people in the secure care environment and monitor the quality and timeliness of deliverables.
- Undertake project assurance and project reporting to inform Senior Executives on the benefits and performance of projects outcomes and provide evidence of tangible outcomes to support the delivery of secure care.
- Ensure that the model of care supports service delivery arrangements and the department's program and strategic intent of secure care.
- Use strong interpersonal communication to establish and maintain partnerships and working relationships with internal and external partners to facilitate co-design, consultation and negotiation.
- Prepare a range of written materials including cabinet submissions, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerning the model of care for secure care.
- Collaborate with other departmental staff in the management of communication and information activities.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of policies, procedures and practices to support service delivery in a secure care environment.
- The possession of a “C” class driver's licence
- Extensive clinical experience in disability, mental health and or trauma services or within a secure care environment.
- Possession of relevant degree and/or professional development in areas including positive behaviour support, restrictive practices and trauma.
