About the Position:

Flinders University is seeking a Lecturer in Education (Mathematics) to contribute to high-quality teaching and impactful research in Mathematics and STEM Education, with a focus on middle and senior years learning. The Lecturer will deliver engaging, research-informed teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate Initial Teacher Education programs and will also support broader contributions across Education, including Digital Technologies and Artificial Intelligence in Education where aligned with expertise and program needs.

In this position, you will:

Design and deliver engaging, evidence-based teaching in mathematics education across middle and senior years. Contribute to research and publications in mathematics or STEM education, securing external funding and supervising HDR students. Build partnerships with schools, professional associations, and industry to enhance teaching impact and research translation.

About You

You are an emerging leader in mathematics or STEM education, with a passion for improving teaching and learning outcomes for students. You combine strong academic capability with practical understanding of how mathematics is taught and learned in diverse educational contexts. You are collegial, research-active, and committed to advancing education through innovative pedagogy and collaboration.

You will also bring:

A PhD (or equivalent) in Education or a closely related field. Demonstrated experience in high-quality university teaching and curriculum design. Evidence of a developing research profile with quality publications and/or external funding. Strong communication and collaboration skills with a demonstrated commitment to student success and inclusion. (Desirable) Experience with supervision, accreditation, or professional learning initiatives.

In addition, it is a requirement of this position that the incumbent maintain a current Working With Children Check which is satisfactory to the University in accordance with the Child Safety (Prohibited Persons) Act 2016 (SA).
