Planning Group coordinates and integrates the planning framework across Queensland, setting the policy, regulation and procedures for State and local government plans, infrastructure plans and development assessment. Our remit is to monitor the now and plan for the future for existing and future populations, employment and industries, infrastructure and development. Our projects are strategic and our assessment services are facilitative, both to make an impact on current issues, such as housing supply, energy and resources, employment and long-term infrastructure planning.Skills
We're looking for the best-suited applicant for these roles. We focus on your strengths by assessing a combination of your competencies, knowledge-based skills and behavior's. For these roles we are looking for strengths in:
- Research, review and analyse state-wide and region-specific policies, strategies and plans, along with analysis of socio-economic demographics, statistics and data, associated with infrastructure planning and regional development.
- Provide an infrastructure baseline and relevant profile for each region and highlight and scope critical policy issues to support the development of regional infrastructure plans.
- Establish enduring and productive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to facilitate infrastructure planning and policy development that delivers on government's objectives, including supporting engagement with regional stakeholders and state government agencies.
- Prepare timely, well-researched, accurate, clear and concise advice and written material to inform and influence executives and external stakeholders, including development of plan content, infographics, presentations, briefing notes, strategy or policy papers, project documents, and correspondence.
- Actively participate in, where appropriate, high-level forums and working groups, with government and other stakeholders, where direction and negotiation are required to support successful infrastructure planning and policy outcomes.
- Work collaboratively to solve complex problems, build a case for change, and communicate the outcomes effectively with senior management, project teams, government agencies and external stakeholders to ensure regional infrastructure planning project outcomes are achieved.
- Contribute towards the collaborative, positive and inclusive culture of the Infrastructure Planning division, by supporting team members, Directors and the Executive Director in achieving organisational priorities and individual personal and professional goals.
