About The Role
Step into a pivotal role as a Principal Policy Officer, shaping the future of legislative and policy services at the QBCC. As a key advisor within the organisation, you will drive strategic reform by developing and implementing initiatives that enhance how legislative and policy functions are delivered across the Commission. You'll lead the Legislative Concerns Register process - an essential mechanism for identifying emerging issues and guiding government advocacy - while working closely with senior leaders and external agencies to provide expert, forward‑thinking advice and support policy development and advocacy. Your work will span high‑level collaboration with internal stakeholders and external agencies, in‑depth research and analysis, preparation of policy papers and submissions, and the assessment of legislative impacts on major projects. As our Principal Policy Officer, you will be at the forefront of shaping reform proposals, delivering high‑quality legislative and policy advice, and strengthening the QBCC's influence in government decision‑making. This position is based in Brisbane CBD. While the role allows for flexibility in working from home, regular in-person attendance at the Brisbane office is an important part of the role.
