Migration Queensland (MQ) is the Queensland Government agency responsible for skilled and business visa nomination.

In partnership with the Department of Home Affairs, MQ nominates successful business and skilled visa applicants wanting to establish themselves in Queensland.

MQ works closely with TIQ's regional and global network, migration agencies, businesses, industry bodies and stakeholders to promote Queensland as a destination of choice for migration and investment.

The Manager, Migration Queensland, provides strategic leadership and oversight of Queensland's skilled migration programs, aligning initiatives with the State's workforce and economic priorities. Operating within a complex intergovernmental policy environment, the role translates migration settings into effective programs that address critical skills shortages and deliver outcomes for Queensland.

Our Ideal Candidate

• Ability to apply a whole-of-government perspective and provide authoritative, evidence-based advice to senior leaders on workforce and migration issues to shape strategic direction and influence decision-making.
• Experience translating strategic priorities into clear program plans and deliverables, managing competing demands, and delivering high-quality outcomes within shifting timeframes and agreed resources.
• Ability to lead complex programs and projects, ensuring transparent governance, effective risk management, assurance and high-quality reporting in dynamic and reform-oriented environments.
• Ability to interpret and apply complex legislative and policy frameworks, and to rapidly acquire specialist knowledge where required, to ensure effective and proportionate program administration and decision-making.
• Experience cultivating strong, trusted partnerships with key government (including the Commonwealth), industry and regional stakeholders, and representing organisational priorities in forums and negotiations to influence outcomes.
• Leadership in building and sustaining a collaborative, inclusive and high-performing team environment, including coaching, capability development and performance management.
