This role is for Additive Solutions . Barentz and Additive Solutions joined forces in Australia and New Zealand in 2014, to combine the strong knowledge of Additive Solutions’ local market specificities with the international expertise of Barentz and its ties to world-leading ingredients manufacturers.
Why We Have This Role
Our business in Australia is seeking for a Business Development Manager to be based in Sydney, who can continue strengthening our established food ingredients portfolio while also building momentum in the nutraceutical space.
We are not starting from zero. We have existing customers, established products, and strong technical capability. Now we need the right person to grow what we have and open new doors.
About the Role
This is a balanced commercial role covering Australia.
- You will manage and develop our existing food industry accounts, maintaining close relationships with procurement, commercial, marketing and R&D teams, identifying growth opportunities, and driving revenue and margin performance.
- At the same time, you will actively maintain existing Nutraceutical and Health focused customers and develop new business in this sector. This includes identifying prospects, understanding formulation needs, building a solid pipeline, and converting opportunities into long-term partnerships that deliver revenue and margin performance.
- You will work closely with internal technical and operations teams to ensure customers receive both commercial and technical support.
- This role requires someone who is comfortable operating independently, managing their own territory, and taking full ownership of results.
About the Team
- You will be part of a lean, commercially focused team that values accountability, transparency, and long-term customer relationships.
- We work collaboratively across sales, technical, and operations functions. Decisions are practical and commercially driven.
- You will also have the support from APAC regional team.
About You
You come with:
- A bachelor’s or master’s degree in in Food Sciences, Food technology, Pharmacy, or a relevant field with 10+ years’ experience in food ingredient sales
- Strong exposure to food manufacturers in Australia
- Working experiences and strong interest in nutraceutical or health ingredients
- A proven ability to grow accounts and win new business
- Commercial discipline, forecasting, pipeline management, follow-up
- Confidence and drive to operate at a high level a deliver result
- This role requires regular travel across the ANZ region and occasional international travel for trade show, exhibitions, customer engagements and business meetings. Candidates must be willing and able to travel as required to fulfill the responsibilities of the position.
