Description:

Lead digital capability development across Queensland Government. As Director, Capability in the Data and Digital Government division, you’ll guide a multidisciplinary team delivering a portfolio of complex projects that build digital skills across the public sector and industry. You’ll oversee program delivery, provide strategic advice on risks and change, and strengthen partnerships across government, industry and academia. The Department of Customer Services, Open Data and Small and Family Business (CDSB) works to improve customer services for Queenslanders, support small and family businesses, and strengthen government service delivery. Within CDSB, the Data and Digital Government team focuses on growing a thriving digital economy and enabling more responsive, simple and effective services across Queensland.

About Your Role

As Director, Capability, you will lead the Capability team within Strategic Sourcing and Delivery, Digital Economy branch. The team supports Queensland Government and industry to build digital skills, knowledge and expertise, helping organisations adapt to a rapidly changing digital environment. You'll guide a small team delivering complex, significant Capability projects aligned with government priorities and contribute to building an innovative, collaborative workplace.

Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Lead and manage a multi-disciplinary team to deliver substantial, complex Capability projects.
  • Oversee program and project delivery using strong program management practices.
  • Drive integration and delivery of digital capability initiatives across government within agreed time, budget and quality expectations.
  • Provide strategic and tactical advice on program and change management risks and issues.
  • Build and sustain strong relationships with departments, cross jurisdictional partners, committees, industry and academia.
  • Prepare high quality briefs, reports and program documentation, including status, outcomes and trend analysis.
  • Foster a collaborative, flexible, knowledge sharing team culture that reflects equity, diversity, respect and inclusion.
