The role of Principal Communication Officer is to provide strategic and operational communication advice and support for the portfolios of child safety, seniors, disability services, community services and domestic, family and sexual violence.As the Principal Communication Officer, you will be actively involved in coordinating internal and external communication projects. This may involve developing and implementing integrated communication strategies, advising on marketing, communication and social media issues, writing and developing print and digital communication materials, supporting marketing campaigns and liaising with various program areas and departmental stakeholders to contribute to the department’s strategic goals and objectives.

Your Responsibilities
As a Principal Communication Officer, you will:
- develop, implement and evaluate a range of integrated, innovative and client-focused communication strategies that support the achievement of the department's strategic objectives in the areas of child safety, seniors, disability services, community services and domestic, family and sexual violence
- provide strategic advice to internal clients on communication issues and projects
- write, edit and coordinate the production of a variety of digital and print communication material, including publications, online and social media content, e-newsletters, videos, presentations and feature stories to support department programs, initiatives and campaigns
- prepare ministerial correspondence, briefing papers, submissions and briefs for Cabinet and other high-level forums
- build and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders to support the delivery of the department's strategies, programs, initiatives and campaigns
- manage the performance of external suppliers to deliver communication products and services, including market research, advertising, graphic design, video production and print services
- ensure activities and materials developed is best practice, meet the needs of diverse internal and external audiences and align with Queensland Government communication and brand policies and requirements.
