Job Description

  • Office of Deputy Chief Operating Officer
  • Full-time, fixed-term position for 6 months
  • Based at our St Lucia campus

About This Opportunity

We are seeking an accomplished and forward‑thinking professional to lead complex organisational change initiatives that enhance how our people, processes and systems work together across the University. This role sits within a collaborative, future‑focused team that drives strategic uplift across capability, culture and operational performance.

In this position, you will provide expert change leadership on a portfolio of strategic initiatives, including emerging work that strengthens how the University uses insights, systems and responsible innovation to support decision‑making and improved service delivery. You will work closely with senior stakeholders to shape change strategies, build readiness and adoption, and champion ways of working that elevate clarity, consistency and trust across the organisation.

Key Responsibilities Include

  • Leading end‑to‑end change planning and delivery across complex, multi‑stream initiatives.
  • Translating strategic intent into meaningful engagement, communications and capability uplift activities.
  • Partnering with senior leaders to build organisational readiness, alignment and adoption.
  • Applying contemporary change practices to initiatives involving new processes, digital capabilities and evolving information practices.

About You

  • A blend of strategic thinking, people‑centred change expertise and the confidence to influence at senior levels.
  • Extensive experience leading change in large, complex organisations.
  • Proven ability to design and deliver change strategies for multi‑year or enterprise‑wide programs.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with a demonstrated ability to build trust and alignment across diverse groups.
  • Experience supporting transformation related to process standardisation, digital uplift or improved information practices.
  • Exceptional communication skills, with an ability to distil complexity into clear, compelling and practical messaging.
  • A collaborative mindset, strong judgement and an ability to navigate ambiguity with confidence and pragmatism.
  • Experience contributing to initiatives involving improved data governance, responsible use of AI‑enabled tools, or organisational uplift in data capability desirable.
